The integration of design, art and light in architecture is not new, and this is perhaps the reason why lamps have gradually moved from being a simple light-emitting object to a light sculpture that gives the product and its surroundings a special personality. The importance of light is such that any change to the object can alter the formal concept of the whole project. A sculpture can appear more or less static, depending on the light received. With DOME, we decided to remove the light from the object so that it becomes a light sculpture designed to receive and emit a delicate light, a play of shadows and nuances that enrich the space for which they were created. The development of this project with Benedetta Tagliabue has allowed us to reflect on the art of lighting, on how to reinterpret light and on the creation of products with a more artistic approach and a less industrial aspect. These light sculptures are entirely handmade and produced at Bover's headquarters in Barcelona. More than 170 pieces of wood, large and small, are wisely intertwined and sewn together one by one to create such a puzzle. The suspension is perfect for the kitchen, living room or bedroom.
